London - Monday 17th August 1998, 4:15pm
It has been a month since my last journal in Paris and what a crazy month!

I stayed a few more days in Paris and wondered around doing the usual touristy things. My favourites. I went to see the Rodin museum and loved it. In general I prefer sculpture to paintings and among others I really liked 'Le Pondeur' (the thinker) and 'Le Cri'. My favourite monument was the 'Arc de Triumph'. Most buildings in cities that offer a view have some sort of cramped viewing area. The Arc de Triumph has a lot of space on top and offers a good view.

I was supposed to visit Gozo in between the two trips but for several reasons this fell through. I was offered work in New York so I flew back to America on july 21st worked for three weeks and flew back here on August 14th. Tonight I leave for India and thanks to Ferris Wheels Motorcycle Tours I will be spending my first 3 weeks riding an old British motorcycle through the Himalayas!

I apologize to all the people in New York and London I did not manage to see (especially those I made plans with that I was unable to keep). Mike and Tori I am sorry I missed your wedding.

Thank you all for keeping in touch and for encouraging me and helping me prepare for the trip. Thanks to Fenice for use of her place in Spain, Rob and his friends for making our stay in Munich so enjoyable, Rupert (Teddington) and jim (Brooklyn) for providing me a place to stay, John for giving me work in New York, Mum and Dad for putting up with a rushed visit, and finally John for organizing some great parties and putting up with me.

There are now a few more pictures on the site. I had hoped to put more up but had little spare time while in NY.

I will probably not have internet access again until I return from the Himalayan mountains (mid september).

Rupert
